Meet Our Team

Toni Cockburn

Veterinarian (BSc BVMS MANZCVS)

I grew up in Far North Queensland, and for as long as I can remember had a passion for helping orphaned and injured animals and wildlife.  Ours was the house that was “always home to a furred or feathered friend in need”.  In 1999 I completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at James Cook University in Townsville, before moving to Perth in 2000 to achieve my dream of becoming a Veterinary Surgeon.

I graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Biology and Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in 2003 and have since worked at a number of practices in NSW and WA.  In 2017 I established Perth Pet Vet Mobile Service.

I have a special interest in birds, and in 2012 successfully completed exams and was granted membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Avian Health.  I am one of the few veterinarians with this membership in Western Australia.

In January 2019 I opened Perth Pet Vet, a purpose built, modern and fully eqipped Veterinary Hopital.

Outside of work  I am kept busy with my four young children, my incredibly supportive husband and our flock of furred and feather companions.

Vicky Brownlie

Veterinarian (BVetMed MRCVS)

Dr Vicky hails from the UK and has wanted to be a vet since she was 4 years old!

She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2002 and worked in the UK in small animal and exotic clinics for a number of years, before migrating to Perth with her Australian husband in 2009.

She loves all things "animally" but has a special affinity for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets and mice!

Vicky's collection of pets both animal and human include 3 chickens, 2 cats, 8 guinea pigs, 2 human boys and 1 husband!

Jodie Richards

Veterinary Nurse (BSc BioSc/ConsWildBio, Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing )

I am a city girl with a country heart. I grew up in the southern suburbs of Perth but I was fortunate to have a family who nurtured and encouraged my love and curiosity for all things furred, feathered and scaled. I graduated from Murdoch University in 2011 with a degree in biology and conservation. During my final two years of study I worked at a local vet hospital as a receptionist. I went on to qualify as a vet nurse in 2012 at Applied Vocational Training and was awarded the Highest Academic Achievement. I have a special interest in wildlife, conservation and animal behaviour. My favourite thing about being a vet nurse is running puppy preschool classes. I was recently bitten by the herpetofauna bug and now I can’t get enough of reptiles! I live on five acres with the love of my life, a horse named Smoke. Oh, and my husband! We have a growing menagerie of other animal friends, including a pet kangaroo named Moo.

Katelin Nunn

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Kate is our bubbly alrounder who has been a Vet Nurse for the last 7 years and has been with the Perth Pet Vet team from the very beginning.

Kate started her career as a keeper with Australia Wildlife, she has always been passionate about conserving our native Australian wildlife and educating the public on the importance of protecting our wildlife for the future.

Kate is also passionate about animal welfare having furthered her education by doing courses in low stress animal handling, venemous snake handling and wildlife rebahilitation.

At home Kate has a variety of her own beloved animals;  a 18 year old chihuahua named Tasmin, 2 cats named Iggy and Minnie, a woma python named Salazar as well as stick and leaf insects and chickens!

Carmel Ozanne

Veterinary Nurse (BSc BioSci(Hons), Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing)

As with almost all vet nurses and vets you meet, I have always had a love of animals, so working with them came as a natural step after completing a Biology Degree with honours from Murdoch University in 1998.  I did a brief stint working at an outdoor piggery in Mt Barker (& believe me a Mummy Pig can run really fast!) before beginning my vet nurse training at Bentley Tafe in 2001.  I am blessed to have 2 beautiful girls with my awesome husband and one very patient (toddler alert!) blue heeler x stumpy tailed cattle dog named Clancy.  I’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic people throughout my career and been taught so much, but one never stops learning and I look forward to continuing this journey with Dr Toni and the wonderful staff at Perth Pet Vet.
